Hetalia X Ah My Goddess

Hetalia is a manga/anime by Hidekazi Himaruya.

This is a crossover using Iceland, Sweden and Denmark and Skuld, Belldandy and Urd. OMG uses various elements of both traditional Japanese mythology and dips into Norse mythology. Hetalia has personification of countries getting into shenanigans usually hilariously.

Skuld means Future. In Norse she is one of the three fates (Norns) in OMG she is the youngest sister. She doesn't have much power, but is a genius in machines. When cut off from the heavenly power supply she can subside on ice cream.

Belldandy is the Goddess/deity of the present. She and Keiichi are the primary focus of OMG. She is a broom racing champion in heaven, when cut off from the heavenly power supply she subsides on sleep.

Urd means Past. In Norse she is the oldest fate. In OMG she is a half demon half goddess and the oldest sister. She and Skuld work in the heavenly computer Yggdrasil and when cut off from the heavenly power she subsides on sake (rice wine).

Iceland is Skuld. I could say it's because both characters look up to their older siblings but I think it was mostly being the youngest thing. I was going to have Norway be Skuld but then I was like 'DERP That don't make no sense' (like so much of this). He has Skuld's mallet, and I never realized this but it's reminiscent of Thor’s hammer

Sweden is Belldandy. Both are lovers of music and share pretty much the same color palette. Belldandy cares a lot about helping people all the time, in anyway that she can and I think Sweden's welfare state is a nice complement to that. He's holding flowers because I fail at thinking of anything else to make him hold, probably should have picked a better picture to parody but that’s what Belldandy looks like.

Denmark is Urd. Both can be fairly perverted and oblivious (or ignore) how they get on other people's nerves. Both love alcoholic drinks and have high self esteem, that borders on obnoxious. But both have redeemable qualities. It's hard to say which Nordic is oldest but Denmark want's to be everyone's big brother so he can be the oldest in this

Outfits are based on the goddess dress's (the artist style actually changes dramaticly over time so I think I used some parts of Urd's older goddess dresses, along side her most recent one) crossed with tunics to hint at the viking heritage. I tried to keep in mind that everything I knew of viking outfits is a lie and tried to find a balance between functional tunics to go pillaging in and how the goddesses outfits are special and are rather pristine.

Colors are based on the primary outfits we see the Hetalia people in during the show. Iceland with his brown and white deviated the most from Skuld's color scheme of pink, red and gold accessories. Sweden just needed the addition of black, she already had blue and gold. Denmark is red and black where Urd is purple and black with a dash of gold.
